Kerr Grabowski  is coming to Fiber Visions Studio in Leicester on September 29 - October 1.  The cost for this three-day workshop is $450.00 plus 30.00 materials fee.  Kerr is an amazing teacher and her technique can be done on cotton, rayon and silk....go beyond monoprints to create fabric which can be turned into Art to Wear.

    Explore & Create

Explore a different facet of screen printing on fabric; the unpredictable, the intuitive, the “happy accident”. Use fiber reactive dyes, deconstructed printing and polychromatic printing. The results are breathtaking in their complexity.

Deconstructed ScreenPrinting is a technique that Kerr developed using multiple textures and marks. The screen is placed on the texture and a preliminary print is mulled transferring the design to the screen. The dye is left to dry, textures are removed and screen is printed with sodium alginate to release the dye.Up to 6 monoprints can be made. The technique is simple, the results can be amazing in their beauty and complexity.

    No previous experience is needed.
