ABOUT THE FUND

As Judi Jetson transitions to Board Member Emeritus, we are honored to announce the establishment of the Judi Jetson Charitable Fund—a long-term investment in the sustainability of Local Cloth.

Local Cloth would not be what it is today without Judi—founding mother, longtime Board Chair, and steadfast steward of this organization. Her volunteer leadership helped build Local Cloth piece by piece, grounded in a deep belief in local fiber, community, and care.

The purpose of this fund is simple and essential: to provide long-term financial stability for Local Cloth’s core operations. The fund will serve as a financial cushion—supporting the organization through changing times and helping ensure that the work Judi helped start can continue for generations to come.

Contributions to the Fund help ensure that Local Cloth can:

+ Expand educational programming

+ Support fiber artists and farmers

+ Invest in youth engagement

+ Strengthen infrastructure and operational stability

+ Respond to emerging needs within our fibershed

This fund honors Judi’s foundational vision while carrying the work forward for future generations.

ABOUT JUDI

In 2011, Judi Jetson gathered with a small group of fiber artists and farmers around a conference table at HandMade in America with a shared belief: that local fiber deserved to be more visible, more valued, and more economically viable. What began as a conversation grew into Local Cloth — now a vibrant regional network of more than 700 members across the Blue Ridge Mountains Fibershed.

As a founding leader, Judi helped shape the organization’s commitment to education, collaboration, and adding value to local raw materials. Through growth, relocation, expansion, and the rebuilding following Hurricane Helene, Judi’s steady leadership has remained rooted in one principle: local fiber — and the people who work with it — matter.
