On June 29, Local Cloth kicks off Tour de Fleece with 21 days of spinning madness! Tour de Fleece is an annual event that started in 2012 coinciding with the famous bicycle race, Tour de France.
This year is Local Cloth's first race with three weeks of festivities that includes family-friendly fiber-centric events, group spin-ins as well as spinning and fiber-related classes for beginners, advanced spinners and anyone interested in learning to process their own fleece.
Want to participate in the Tour de Fleece?
All you have to do is set a challenge for yourself. It doesn't matter what the challenge is -- it could be spinning fine yarn for the first time, producing a funky artsy yarn, or simply calculating and spinning the right amount for a specific project. If you've always wanted to spin a little every day, but never seem to find time for it, that could also be the challenge -- spinning every morning of the tour! What matters most is that you set out the challenge, and then work to meet it during the specified time.
Share your challenge at our Kickoff Event!
We'll kick off our Tour de Fleece on Saturday, June 29 from 1pm to 5pm at Local Cloth, gathering together to spin yarn, share our chosen challenges, offer encouragement to each other, and share some food and drinks. RSVP by clicking here!
