Join us as we welcome textile artist speaker Aaron McMullin for this special evening discussing textile activism!

St. Louis-based artist and activist Aaron McMullin uses textile art as a tool for racial equity organizing and healing. Activated as a frontline protestor in Ferguson, MO, after white police officer Darren Wilson murdered Mike Brown, Aaron has spent the last decade exploring how to use art to heal racism and social injustices. As part of her MFA in textiles, Aaron created bodies of work addressing the roles that white women historically played in upholding or dismantling racism in the United States. In this artist talk, Aaron will share how pivotal life experiences have shaped her and continue to guide her in creating this work as a white, cisgender woman.
