What shade of purple, pink, lavender can you get from your harvest? How dark can you get it?

Expanding on the Intro to the Indighost workshop, come with your results, questions, and possible answers to share. We may not do any dyeing, it will depend on whether there are burning questions that can only be answered in a dyebath.

Or, if you tried black dye with the Indigofera powder and henna, share that!

If you were unable to attend the workshop, the handout is here. We used leftover juice from a basic blue bath to create the ammonia bath with fresh Japanese indigo leaves. It seems the fresh leaves are not yet ready to produce much purple without that boost.

Indigofera tinctoria powder can be purchased from Zenia Herbal. They also have henna and the recipe for making black hair dye from indigo and henna, which should work on protein fibers.
