This is the first of three events focused on embroidery. We will take a brief historical journey of embroidery, looking a bit more closely at crewel work (17th and 18th century in Europe). We'll then follow the influence of crewel work on a unique group of women who formed the Deerfield Society of Blue and White Needlework in Massachusetts just prior to WWI. You will use a kit that is provided to try your hand at this craft.
