This month we will be going on a foraging walk with local natural dye expert and author Dede Styles. Dede's book Wild Mountain Time, Native Dye Plants is a great source for finding and using local plants. Dede says in her introduction: "I hope to help those who want to use native plants as sources for dyes so that together we can keep alive the knowledge of using native plants for dyes as our ancestors did. " Dede is going to see if there is a good area for us to forage near the studio but if that doesn't work I will let everyone know where we will be meeting closer to the day. I am very excited to have the opportunity  to learn from Dede and so grateful that she will be sharing her wealth of knowledge with us.

If you haven't joined the us for the study group we pick one topic each month which is led by one of the natural dyer's in our group. This is not a class and does assume a basic familiarity with natural dyeing. We do recommend that you have taken a class or done some research so you can  have a  satisfactory experience.

What to Bring:

Notebook, clippers, a bag to collect leaves.
