Downtown Asheville is the best place to spend a Friday evening in July. You can stroll around, enjoy dinner, stop at a brewery or wine bar – and, of course, people watch at the Asheville Drum Circle.
The South Slope is another area of Downtown to explore on Friday evening – restaurants, breweries, shops and galleries.
Morning | The Anything Fiber Sale – Local Cloth’s annual yard sale for fiber artists. Join us when the doors open at 9:00 for the best bargains! AB Tech –Mission Conference Center 16 Fernihurst Drive. After the Sale is a great time to head to the River Arts District to visit galleries, talk with artists, and celebrate our ongoing recovery. Be sure to stop by Local Cloth at 408 Depot Street #100. Our shop features the beautiful work of our member fiber artists.
The Afternoon | Downtown Asheville again! All the shops and restaurants are open, and it's also a good time to step inside the Black Mountain College Museum and Arts Center to enjoy their multidisciplinary exhibits ranging from art to music to poetry to filmmaking. The Center for Craft is another inspiring location to visit in Downtown.
The Evening | Time for another great leisurely dinner! Check out local breweries or enjoying the beautiful music and dance traditions of Southern Appalachia at Shindig on the Green.
Sunday morning is a great time for one last walk around town, this time checking out Asheville’s art deco and art nouveau architecture and incredible urban art and murals.
Downtown, the South Slope, the River Arts District, and West Asheville all have spectacular murals, decorative street and outdoor art.
