International Women's Day | March 8 (11am - 5pm) | Local Cloth Studio

Taking place for over a century and supported by more than 1 million people, International Women's Day is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women as well as a call to action for accelerating women's equality. To celebrate, Local Cloth hosts an annual drop-in event, featuring demonstrations on embroidery and needle felting, bookmaking, reusable menstrual pads, and small weaving projects. This is a casual event where you are invited to come when you can and stay as long as you want. Fiber and textile arts are often passed to us from family members and friends—we all have stories about how we learned to knit or why we weave or spin, and those stories usually are about other women in our lives and the impact they have had on our fiber arts journey. Everyone is welcome and this is a free, kid-friendly event.
