Expand Your Knowledge and Build Community With Interest Groups

15 January 2026 10:43 AM | Trisha Giramma (Administrator)

Local Cloth offers a wide range of workshops taught by skilled instructors to help you explore new modalities and techniques. But what if you want to delve deeper into a specific art?

If that is the case, it might be time to explore one of our interest groups.

Interest groups meet regularly and allow fiber artists at every level to expand and share their knowledge with a group of like-minded fiber friends. Led by fiber artists with extensive experience in their fields, interest groups are a great way to build community with others who share your fiber passion.

Interest Groups come in different shapes and sizes, ranging from study groups on fiber topics to hands-on circles where you bring your works-in-progress. They are not classes, and there is no formal instruction; instead, they provide an opportunity to share ideas and experiences and learn from one another. Most groups meet monthly, and some meet multiple times each month. Click here for more detailed information on each group.

To receive emails about an interest group, be sure to include the name of that group under “Interest Groups” in your member profile. Follow this link for instructions on updating your member profile if you would like to be added to a mailing list. If you are not a member of Local Cloth, click here to learn more about joining us.
