This workshop is an introduction to tubular netting stitch, a variation on peyote needle weaving. Using size 11 seed beads, we will cover netting stitch basics, simple pattern planning, ending/adding thread and maintaining appropriate thread tension. Students will have the option to create a beaded bail and pendant to further embellish the netted cord. The instructor will demonstrate all steps and techniques required and provide detailed printed instructions for future reference.

$10 MATERIALS FEE : for beading mat, needles, thread, spacers/findings for pendant, cord for lining tube

Level: Beginner

Registration: Members $100

Non-members $120

Instructor: Sara Hall

What to bring/how to dress: Size 11 seed beads in colors of student's choice, feature beads for clasp and pendant. Note: example in photo uses matte black as the "main" cord color and five additional colors to form the pattern. Students may choose their own level of complexity! Chevron Beads (downtown Asheville) and Cherry Tree Beads (Swannanoa) are great local resources. A personal light source (desk lamp or Ott light) is very helpful.
