9th Annual Fiber Farmers Day
May 1st | 9am- 2pm | WNC Agricultural Center
THANK YOU FOR MAKING LOCAL CLOTH'S FAVORITE PASTURE TO PRODUCT EVENT
This spring, Local Cloth's 9th annual Fiber Farmers Day was held at the WNC Agricultural Center sales barn. Where it all began! It was a great day to find wool, mohair, camelid fleece, yarn, roving or handmade items.
Spinners, brought their wheels for a spinning circle. There were demonstrates of how fleece is carded and how to comb to prepare it for spinning.
Fiber and textile art enthusiasts plunged their hands into luscious locally raised alpaca, sheep and mohair fleeces; fondled yarns and products produced from them; and learned how to incorporate more local fibers into your knitting, spinning, weaving, felting and crocheting projects.
Presented by Local Cloth Inc, this event is designed to educate the public about local fiber, allow the purchase of local animal fibers, and provide local resources for turning that fleece into the roving, yarn or cloth they need.
See you next year!
