Welcome to Local Cloth

Our Blue Ridge Mountains Fibershed, roughly within a 100 mile radius of Asheville, NC, encompasses the rural mountainous region of Western North Carolina, parts of East Tennessee, and Upstate South Carolina. Our region of Appalachia has a deeply rooted history in handcraft and textiles, but also in economic struggle and resilience. 

What We Are

We are a thriving community of farmers, fiber artists, suppliers, designers and sewists, educators, students, and small scale fiber mills dedicated to enhancing the lives of those making a living in fiber industries. 

What We Do

We support and sustain the regional fiber and textile arts economy and professions in the Blue Ridge Mountains through collaborations, education and innovation.
