Floor-Loom Weaving: Three Warps, Three Towels, Session I

Plan, warp and weave a plain weave cotton towel on a 4-shaft floor loom. Subjects include loom/equipment orientation, yarn selection, calculating yarn needs, pattern drafting, warp winding, front-to-back warping, shuttle handling and bobbin winding, weaving techniques, hemstitching and wet finishing.

Experience required: None. For beginners, Karen recommends taking all three sessions in succession, as the best way to become comfortable with warping is frequent repetition.
